Dogs and Cats in Cowboy Hats

The Land Up Country Living Series

Cute dogs and cats in cowboy hats? The title says it all: need we say more? Meet the finest (and furriest) of the Land Up Realty team - all, of course, in Texas apparel. No pets were harmed in the making of this blog. We can’t say the same for the owners🤷.

Luna, the Roping Virtuoso

Her hat may be small, but her heart is big. And so are her paws, ears, nose, etc. But seriously, LOOK at that FACE. She could beat you in a game of tug of war almost instantly - if she weren’t sweeter than a Buc-ees caramel beaver nugget.

Archie, the Sharp Shooter

And now we have an actual nugget, Archie - named after his incredible aim. He can shoot an apple off your head without even breaking a sweat. Despite their different sizes, Archie and Luna are the Texas Hill Country’s partners in crime. The crime? Stealing your heart, of course 😉

Creature, the Rodeo Pro

Creature’s the name, and the rodeo is his game. He’s got his boots, he’s got his hat, and he’s bringing country back. Head north from Austin to Waco, and you’ll find another incredible duo - Creature and Eva. Creature’s boots were made for walking, and that’s just what he’ll do.

Eva, the Country Singer

But what is a rodeo star without his right-hand lady? Eva may not rope and ride like Creature, but that’s only because she’s strumming her guitar on-stage at the rodeo instead. If you’re a country music fan, you’ve probably heard some of her work: like “Barking 9 to 5,” “All My Pets Live in Texas,” and “Coal Miner's Dog~ter.”

Xylo, the Hollywood Star

You probably already recognize her, but Xylo is actually a famous movie star. She plays Coach Gary Gaines in Friday Night Lights, as well as Cat #3 in Oliver & Company. But when she can, she escapes the celebrity life to go back home and unwind in the peaceful countryside - preferring twinkling stars over paparazzi camera flashes.

Woody, the Local Sheriff

Before you ask - yes, he’s named after the Toy Story character. And yes, his cowboy hat is from an aptly themed halloween costume. But Woody takes his job as sheriff very seriously. He has been in several stick ups with the town troublemaker and has said the phrase “this town ain’t big enough for the two of us” more than he’d care to admit.

Ivy, the Small Town Dreamer

Ivy’s favorite saying has always been, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” She grew up watching Xylo in her charming small-town theater. Her head may be in the clouds sometimes, but she’s got the plans and the passion to turn her sleepy downtown into a bustling one. Her dreams may come sooner than she thinks.

Meche, the Rags to Riches Icon

Meche comes all the way from Macedonia near Greece. A classic rags to riches story, Meche was a small street pup that pulled herself up by her bootstraps, moved to Texas, invested in Texas real estate, and made it big. She now roams her 100 acre ranch in Caldwell County, while her human stays home and works on DIY projects - like this one!
